DR Anderson installed a refurbished Stedman mill in an existing operating plant for a long time client. The existing deck was modified and reinforced for the new loads added by the mill and supporting base. Once structural members were in place, a concrete inertia base was placed in two parts to isolate vibration from the mill. The 25,000lb mill was hoisted to the upper level and assembled in place. Due to the mill’s location in the plant, DRA’s millwrights rigged and set mill sections into place by hand using chain falls.

DR Anderson and its subcontractor team removed and replaced the roof structure on UNMC’s Central Utility Plant. Originally built in 1919, and expanded in the 1940’s, the existing wood timber roof structure was removed and replaced with modern steel fire resistant construction. The project was completed over the summer months while maintaining the fully functioning boiler plant below. A temporary scaffold/roof structure was built in the plant to protect boilers, insulation, controls, and high voltage electrical gear in the basement.

DR Anderson constructed two new public Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations and completed upgrades to MUD’s private existing fleet fueling facility. The public filling stations are a first for the Omaha Metro area and when constructed were the only public fueling stations between Chicago and Denver along the I-80 corridor.
