Project Summary

DR Anderson was selected as general contractor for another project at PCS’ Weeping water facility. DRA had previously completed PCS’ Raymond Mill installation as well as the Safe Haven project where DRA constructed multiple storm shelters meeting FEMA disaster requirements.

The Load-out facility consists of a new tower addition over the existing load-out facility. The addition rises 120’ above the existing load-out and includes two 16’ diameter bulk storage tanks. These tanks hold 300tons of PCS’ feed supplement products. This addition has reduced PCS’s load-out time by about 75% for each trailer load that is shipped out of the facility.

The steel structure includes four foot diameter piers drilled down and into the underlying bedrock on site. In addition to the challenging site conditions, the project was constructed while maintaining plant operations. A temporary deck was constructed to accommodate PCS customer’s requirements for loading during normal working hours.

DR Anderson also completed installation of bucket elevators, samplers, product chutes, and bag house with associated ducting.

PCS’ Weeping Water site is an operating mine site and is regulated by Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) part 48 requirements. DRA site and management personnel completed MSHA training and prepared a site specific Part 48 plan. With this training and plan in place, DRA can work on any site regulated by MSHA.
