After 13 years as a licensed engineer on major commercial and power plant projects, Don R. Anderson founded D.R. Anderson Constructors (DRA) in 1963.
Starting with banks, offices, churches, and schools in Omaha, DRA soon expanded into industrial projects for major food processing and manufacturing firms.
From a small home-based business, we have grown to 45 employees with an $80 million bonding capacity. Over 60+ years, it has become one of the area's most respected contractors.
Don R. Anderson retired in 1990, passing leadership to Greg Elkins, who helped expand DRA until 2019, when J.P. Mertlik took over. With 36+ years at DRA, J.P. continues to drive its growth and client-focused approach.
With extensive construction experience in multiple sectors, DRA’s “niche” is successfully completing complex projects, including:
- Intensive industrial projects
- Multi-phased remodels for education, retail, and offices
- Large communication and data facilities
- Major infrastructure and building projects
- Compressed natural gas facilities
DRA embraces challenges and stays ahead with the latest technology to deliver top-quality results.
