After 13 years of working as a licensed professional engineer on various large commercial and power plant projects, Don R. Anderson decided to launch his own company. In 1963 he founded D.R. Anderson Constructors (DRA).

Early projects included bank branches, commercial offices, churches, and educational facilities throughout the Omaha area. DRA ’s portfolio also expanded into to the industrial sector by completing projects for some of the area’s largest food processing and manufacturing firms.

The business has grown from a small company based in Don R. Anderson’s home to current bonding capacity of $80 million and 80 employees. Forty-five years of experience has established DRA as one of the most respected contractors in the area.

In 1990, Don R. Anderson retired from the company he’d built from the ground up. Upon Mr. Anderson’s retirement, Greg Elkins took over as President, a position he still holds today. Greg has played an important role with DRA since joining the company as a superintendent in 1978. Today his judgment and leadership has kept DRA performing as one of the area’s largest and most capable contractors.

DRA has consistently worked in the industrial and manufacturing sectors since its inception, and many current clients rely on our expertise in these areas to complete specialized capital improvement projects in their facilities.

In addition to the conventional industrial and commercial construction sectors, DRA has been a leader on some of the most complex communications and data processing projects in the area over the past decade. DRA continues to evolve as a company keeping on top of the latest technology in our field.
