Complex Equipment Installation

DR Anderson installed a refurbished Stedman mill in an existing operating plant for a long time client. The existing deck was modified and reinforced for the new loads added by the mill and supporting base. Once structural members were in place, a concrete inertia base was placed in two parts to isolate vibration from the mill. The 25,000lb mill was hoisted to the upper level and assembled in place. Due to the mill’s location in the plant, DRA’s millwrights rigged and set mill sections into place by hand using chain falls.

DR Anderson and its subcontractor team removed and replaced the roof structure on UNMC’s Central Utility Plant. Originally built in 1919, and expanded in the 1940’s, the existing wood timber roof structure was removed and replaced with modern steel fire resistant construction. The project was completed over the summer months while maintaining the fully functioning boiler plant below. A temporary scaffold/roof structure was built in the plant to protect boilers, insulation, controls, and high voltage electrical gear in the basement.

DR Anderson completed an addition to the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Central Utility Plant. The project was completed during the “off season” for campus cooling. An existing structure housing a chiller and high voltage campus electrical distribution gear was removed. Temporary structures were built around he chiller and distribution gear as they remained in place while the new addition was completed around them.

DR Anderson was selected as general contractor for another project at PCS’ Weeping water facility. DRA had previously completed PCS’ Raymond Mill installation as well as the Safe Haven project where DRA constructed multiple storm shelters meeting FEMA disaster requirements.

DR Anderson constructed two new public Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations and completed upgrades to MUD’s private existing fleet fueling facility. The public filling stations are a first for the Omaha Metro area and when constructed were the only public fueling stations between Chicago and Denver along the I-80 corridor.

DR Anderson constructed this building adjacent to the existing IBEW offices and meeting hall. This required careful coordination between DR Anderson’s management team and our client, IBEW. This project was successfully completed in phases without any major interruptions or delays in our clients daily operations.

D.R. Anderson (DRA) was hired to add on to each end of an existing material storage crane way and build a new 80 x 420 foot building over truck and rail entrances. All work was to be completed without interrupting plant operations.

DR Anderson performed General Construction work on this Data Center in Council Bluffs, IA. The facility houses servers and equipment for one of the world’s largest internet companies. Work was completed on a fast track GMP basis.

DR Anderson constructed this multi-user jail facility on a tight jobsite without interrupting the operations of the County Courthouse and Sheriff's Office. Once completed the facility integrated the City Police, County Sheriff and County Jail into one facility.

D. R. Anderson Constructors Co. negotiated the construction this 3-story building with underground parking garage and a tenant finish of one floor for the same client.

The building was a structural steel frame with concrete floors and metal stud exterior skin.  The exterior cladding consisted of brick, aluminum windows, curtain wall and fiber-cement wall panels.  The underground parking garage was constructed of  concrete walls and floors connected to the upper floors by two stair towers and an elevator.
