DRA project receives AIA Awards

Monday, October 31, 2016

Metropolitan Community College Connector Building has received awards as part of this year’s AIA Nebraska Design Awards Banquet. The Connector project has received a New Construction Honor Award and a Masonry Award. Bahr Vermeer Haecker Architects (BVH) was responsible for the projects design.

D.R. Anderson Constructors successfully completed this facility for Metropolitan Community College as a link to bring their existing facilities together with a new public library and transportation facility. This building also serves as a student center with public meeting areas and numerous classrooms.

Construction of the facility was completed as scheduled over an eighteen month period. This project posed many challenges including connecting this facility into two existing structures as well as a new pedestrian bridge. DRA worked closely with BVH and Metro to coordinate and successfully complete construction.

DRA is honored to be part of this successful project and appreciates our relationship with BVH. We look forward to continuing our relationship with BVH and Metropolitan Community College.
